The Events Management Department has started the season with the ENCKEP Meeting 2018
From February 12 – 14, the European Network for Collaboration on Kidney Exchange Programmes (ENCKEP) took place in The Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Prague, Czech Republic. The aim of the meeting was to share information and coordinate practices among planned and existing kidney exchange programs throughout Europe.
This event took place under the auspices of the COST program (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), which aims to effectively support transnational cooperation between researchers, engineers and professionals who participate in research activities in any field of science and technology.
Problems with kidney transplantation arise due to the frequent incompatibility of donor and recipient pairs as up to 40% living donors cannot be transplanted with their designated recipients. Therefore, the aim of the program is to find other alternatives and connect donors with recipients in optimal combinations for successful kidney transplantation. The first discussion forum ENCKEP 2018 in Prague supported the development of further cooperation in this field.
