Young scientists and doctors involved in surgical research met in Madrid
At the turn of May and June, the 53rd Congress of the European Society for Surgical Research (ESSR) was held in Spain. The event took place at the Faculty of Medicine, Complutense University of Madrid.
The goal of the Congress was to develop and support high-quality surgical research activities while encouraging surgical specialists to educate in this field. Every year, young scientists and physicians from around the world meet at the event to present their current research activities.
The four-day program focused on various types of surgery including orthopedic, vascular and endovascular as well as surgical and experimental techniques and approaches. Before the Congress, there were also two courses designed to prepare research staff in the conduct of clinical trials with human participants.
The event was attended by over 200 experts. Lecturers were not only experts from Europe, but also from Japan, South Africa, Iran, and the USA.
